The Episcopal Academy, founded in 1785, is a private, co-educational school for grades Pre-K through 12. In 2008, it relocated from its Merion,Pennsylvania campus to a new 123-acre campus in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.
Built from the ground up, the Episcopal Academy includes 7 buildings (380,000 sq ft),including, 3 schools (Lower, Middle and Upper), an Athletic Complex, Campus Center, Science Center and Chapel. Each with distinctive architecture and interior finishes. MERJE worked with the interior designers to develop an interior signage program that reflected each space, met the functional requirements of the individual building and provided a level of consistency throughout the campus. The system also works in concert with the schools donor recognition program, providing a single unit display of both operational and donor information. Wayfinding, room number sequencing, changeability and flexibility were all key components to the design of the system. See also Episcopal Academy Exterior Signage and Donor Recognition
